About
I’ve always thought the easiest way to tell a story was just to show someone.
And like everything else I’ve done, video and cameras and movies all started off as a hobby, learning techniques as I went, not taking it seriously enough where it lost the fun but taking it seriously enough where it became a passion to craft an art form.
Storytelling through film became an extension to how I could communicate and express ideas — I always found it easier to show than tell.
But storytelling is only one component to filmmaking: the other is technique. Learning how to get the content you want; figuring out how to get the camera to do what you imagine; discovering the audio that the story needs; editing everything in post to produce a final product that exceeds the idea that started off in your head.
A filmmaker marries storytelling and technical prowess to produce content that makes people feel.
One Rare Hair Productions is my take on what a modern, boutique production company needs to be at a time where everyone has a phone in their pocket. A scalable and agile entity that has the ability to produce anything from reels to digital shorts to Netflix approved series is the difference between the phone in your pocket and a team that is dedicated to the art form and technique needed to tell a story and convey a feeling.
